There is still time for South West businesses to register their interest in taking part in the next stage of Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront.
DevelopmentWA and the South West Development Commission are inviting subcontractors and suppliers to register by Tuesday June 30 2020 to maximise local inclusion in the project.
By participating, businesses will have their details provided to the prospective lead contractors for the first phase of landscaping and site works associated with the Casuarina Drive Redevelopment.
South West Development Commission chief executive officer Mellisa Teede encouraged businesses to put their hands up for upcoming work opportunities.
“Now is the time to highlight your business capabilities in relation to Phase One works taking place along Casuarina Drive as part of Stage Two of Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront,” Ms Teede said.
“There will also be opportunities in the future for businesses to flag their interest in future phases of the Casuarina Drive Redevelopment.
“For now, we are concentrating on connecting local businesses to opportunities in the first phase, and we encourage subcontractors and suppliers to put themselves forward for work.
“As part of the State Government’s Local Content Advisor Network, we are committed to maximising local supplier, contractor and job opportunities in the region.
“By supporting local businesses, we support local jobs.”
The foreshore work will feature comprehensive landscaping and site works along Casuarina Drive including:
> Upgraded playground facilities and new shade sails;
> BBQ and picnic shelters;
> Beach showers and grassed areas;
> Improved lighting;
> Terraced steps and amphitheatre seating;
> Upgraded beach promenade pathways for pedestrians and cyclists; and
> Improved beach access paths to connect restaurants and businesses.
The Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront project is being delivered by the South West Development Commission in partnership with DevelopmentWA, the City of Bunbury, Department of Transport and Bunbury Development Committee.
