From playing football to hiking through majestic forests or sailing on the ocean, the region is a great place for aspiring athletes, sports enthusiasts and those who simply like to get out and about in the great outdoors.

Bunbury is the major centre for sport in the region, with an international standard athletics track, regional sports centre and speedway among its list of facilities.

Outside there are playing fields for sports such as hockey, cricket, soccer and Australian Rules football.

There are facilities for thoroughbred horse racing and pacing, and for motorsports, as well as quality golf courses, yacht clubs, racing tracks and mountain bike trails.

Be part of the action

Fancy being part of a hockey team or participating in a local tennis competition? A variety of individual or team sporting clubs are established in the South West and welcome new members.

The region is also home to the South West Academy of Sport (SWAS), an organisation helping to launch the sporting careers of talented young sports men and women in the region.
