Craft beer brewed in the South West being poured in Singapore

Craft beer brewed in the South West being poured in Singapore

Eagle Bay Brewing Co is exporting for the first time after breaking into the Singapore market with assistance from the South West Development Commission’s TradeStart program.

SWDC delivers Austrade’s TradeStart services for the region, giving local businesses access to commercial export advice, contacts and market entry assistance.

SWDC chief executive officer Mellisa Teede said the agency’s TradeStart team worked globally to get the best results locally.

“As soon as a business gets in touch with us and says ‘we want to export’, our TradeStart team goes into action for them,” Ms Teede said.

“Our experienced export advisers, Simon Taylor and Mat Lewis, quickly make connections to help get businesses offshore, accessing the strength of Australia’s global trade network.

“There are many great South West export success stories – and it is fantastic to see Eagle Bay Brewing Co breaking ground in Singapore.

“Singapore is an excellent market for us. It is transparent and there is deep understanding of the quality of our products among Singaporean consumers and retailers.  In fact, opportunities right across South East Asia are very strong for WA producers and service providers.

“We encourage any business thinking about exporting or moving into new markets to get in touch.  We help businesses tap into opportunities and provide support not only through the national government, but also through WA’s own Trade Commissioners who are working hard to secure deals for WA exporters.”
