Community event this Saturday to celebrate the new and improved Jetty Baths Park

Bunbury’s Jetty Baths Park is now an even better place to spend time in following a facelift – and to celebrate, the community is encouraged to attend an event this Saturday December 11.

Pack a picnic to enjoy with the family on the enhanced foreshore along Casuarina Drive between 9am and 11.30am, while making the most of the new waterfront promenade.

There will be a range of family-friendly festivities to enjoy including a ‘have-a-go circus’, face-painting and stilt walkers as well as food and a coffee van – not to mention free giveaways.

Key features of the new waterfront promenade include improved beach access, pathways, accessible playground, landscaped areas and seating along with picnic and barbecue facilities.

The new-look Jetty Baths Park is the latest area of local coastline to be renewed by the State Government through the Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront project.

Other foreshore areas that have been transformed through the initiative include the Dolphin Discovery Centre, Koombana Bay foreshore, and Jetty Road Causeway.

Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront is a State Government project overseen by the South West Development Commission and delivered in partnership with DevelopmentWA, Department of Transport, City of Bunbury and Southern Ports.

The Casuarina Drive Redevelopment, which comprises three scopes of work, is being project-managed by DevelopmentWA for SWDC.

The first scope of work has resulted in the transformation of Jetty Baths Park. The second scope of work is underway and focuses on the delivery of essential civil and servicing works. The final area of delivery is scheduled for next year and involves landscaping and revitalisation works across the remaining length of the beach along Casuarina Drive.
