Trade mission offers international buyers a taste of WA

Western Australia’s diverse selection of food is being showcased to international buyers through the Taste WA trade mission this week.

Twenty-five food buyers from markets including China, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Taiwan are in Western Australia, touring the metropolitan, South West and Great Southern regions.

In addition, two Indonesian fresh produce buyers and retailers are visiting WA this week to source horticultural products for the Indonesian market.

The week-long program is allowing visitors to connect with local agribusinesses, sample high-quality food and beverages, and gain an insight into their provenance and quality.

In the South West, the South West Development Commission held a showcase event today which featured 12 local producers. The aim of the event was to link the local producers and the visiting buyers, facilitating the discussion of potential trade opportunities.

The visit is hosted by the State Government, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA and Austrade.
