RED Grants funding to support jobs and economic growth

Organisations with innovative projects that will contribute to economic growth and support jobs are invited to apply to the South West Development Commission for funding.

Up to $200,000 per project is available through the State Government’s Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants program, which is being delivered in the South West by SWDC with the assistance of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.

Through the program, the State Government is investing $28.8 million over five years in projects driven by local organisations that will create real economic benefit and employment opportunities in regional WA.

Grants are available for projects that help sustain jobs, expand or diversify industry, develop skills or capabilities, attract new investment, and maximise economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

SWDC chief executive officer Mellisa Teede encouraged organisations with projects in the pipeline or that were shovel-ready to consider applying for the financial support on offer.

“We are keen to work with the South West community to identify opportunities to capitalise on growth and expansion potential with the support offered through the RED Grants program,” Ms Teede.

Priorities include investing in innovation or value-adding in key industries, maximising international and interstate markets or exports, and supporting Aboriginal small business development.
