Hospo Gigs platform serves up staff for local hospitality businesses

Anniebrook Farm Café and Gifts has found the extra set of hands it had been searching for – and it is all thanks to Hospo Gigs.

After being short-staffed for weeks without a kitchen all-rounder with barista skills, the business successfully filled the vacant position using the free hospogigs.com.au portal.

24-year-old Gabin Vessot is now behind the coffee machine – and it turns out it was a great fit for all parties, with new employee and employer happy with the arrangement.

“I’d been placing ads everywhere – and just couldn’t find the right person,” owner Dawn Lewis said.

“I think because Hospo Gigs is focused on hospitality, you’ve got more of a chance of finding the right employee.”

The job is working out well for Mr Vessot, who is enjoying living and working in a regional location after being city-based.

“Everything is going great so far,” Mr Vessot said.

Hospo Gigs is an online platform developed by the South West Development Commission to address the workforce shortage in the hospitality sector in the Busselton-Margaret River region.

The aim of the platform is to contribute towards the pool of workers that hospitality businesses in the Busselton-Margaret River region can tap into.
