Discover the trends shaping the way we will live, work and play in the future

Acclaimed futurist Dr Ben Hamer will set the scene at the upcoming Innovative Industries of the Futures (IIF) Conference when he dives into the technologies and trends that will shape the way we will live, work and play in the future.

“I’ll take attendees through some cool technologies, have a whole lot of data and some quirky insights that will make you the smartest person at your next dinner party,” Dr Hamer said.

Dr Hamer said it was important to keep an eye on the horizon to be prepared for the trends shaping the future.

“We’re currently living through change at the fastest rate in human history, but also the slowest that we’ll be experiencing for the rest of our lives. So, we can’t afford to sit back and do nothing, otherwise we’ll just inherit a world that was designed for someone else,” Dr Hamer said.

I’ll be giving you a sneak peek at some of the key insights coming from my 2025 Future Forecast, as well as a preview of some of the datapoints coming out of the Perth 2050 study that I’m currently working on, which gives an idea around what residents are looking for when it comes to innovative industries of the future.”

The IIF conference is taking place in Bunbury, Western Australia over November 5 and 6 2024 and will feature presentations, panel discussions and industry highlighting the opportunities and challenges for industry and communities in the transition to a clean economy.

A major networking event on Day One of the conference will provide a welcome opportunity to continue building on connections made at the event. Entry to the Regional Revelry at the Dolphin Discovery Centre is included as part of a full conference ticket or can be purchased as a stand-alone ticket.

The IIF Conference is hosted by the South West Development Commission in partnership with the City of Bunbury, and will take place at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre over November 5 and 6 2024.
