The State Government today launched a new prospectus to promote the Collie region to investors in Australia and around the world.
Collie is already attracting a range of new industry investments thanks to the State Government’s work over recent years to diversify its economy and develop new industries to support local jobs.
The region has a range of competitive advantages to support new industries, including existing infrastructure and land, a skilled and agile workforce, and a supportive local business environment.
Investors will be able to use the prospectus to easily access information on projects that are underway, and new opportunities in job-rich industry sectors.
Industry sectors highlighted in the prospectus include:
- manufacturing
- energy intensive industry, such as mineral processing;
- future clean energy, such as battery industry development; and
- primary industries, including agribusiness.
The prospectus was developed as part of the State Government’s ‘Just Transition Plan’ for Collie, a framework to support workers and the wider community as the town transitions into new industries.
The launch of the prospectus follows the 2021-22 State Budget announcement of an additional $20 million for the Collie Industry Attraction and Development Fund.
The State Government has recently committed more than $100 million for infrastructure development to attract and support private sector infrastructure in the region.
