Clock ticking as timeframe for submitting RED Grants applications closes in

There is still time for businesses and organisations to apply for funding towards local projects through the State Government’s Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants.

The South West Development Commission is accepting applications for funding through Round 4 of the program until 3pm on Thursday October 21.

In the South West, up to $150,000 is available for individual projects that will increase or sustain jobs, expand or diversify industry, develop skills or capability, increase business productivity, and attract new investment to the region.

Previous recipients include Vee Two, a local specialist motorcycle and parts manufacturer exporting around the world. With assistance from a RED Grant, the Nannup-based business has purchased a machine that will help it speed up production to meet world-demand for its highly-regarded products.

SWDC chief executive officer Mellisa Teede said there were many great examples of local businesses which have benefited from receiving funding through the RED Grants.

“We want to help more businesses and organisations in the region, which will in turn help the community through economic diversification and jobs creation,” Ms Teede said.

“If you are unsure whether RED Grants is the right fit for your project, I encourage you to contact the team at SWDC.”

Applications close at 3pm on Thursday October 21 2021.
