Your chance to receive insight into the innovative industries of the future
The South West of Western Australia is well-known for its Instaworthy scenery and experiences. Think picturesque coastlines and world-class surf, towering trees, plus gourmet food and wine offerings. These attributes all go a long way in making the region a destination of first choice by those drawn to – and inspired by the wonders of – this premier tourism and wine region.
Dig a little deeper, go below the surface and you will discover that what lies beneath this popular patch of WA is what the world needs to enable the clean energy transition.
The South West is resource-rich. The world’s premier hard rock lithium mineral deposit is located in the region, at Greenbushes,
presenting unprecedented opportunities on the pathway to net zero.
In November, the significance of the South West region to local, state and national economies will take centre stage at the inaugural Innovative Industries of the Future (IIF) Conference in the city of Bunbury.
The event will bring together leaders in their field who will spotlight the global trends shaping economic growth and jobs creation with
a focus on the opportunities and challenges as the world rapidly decarbonises. Accelerating skills and sector uplift to support growth in a clean industrial future to ensure competitiveness will be among the subjects highlighted.
Attend for a glimpse into future industries of the clean economy as well as to explore critical topics. Keynote speakers include
futurist Dr Ben Hamer who will provide insight into trends shaping the way we live, work and play in the future, and Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Russell Borthwick who offer insight into Aberdeen, Scotland’s transition from oil and gas to renewables.
Ensuring the community is taken along the journey and the benefits of the clean economy flow through to residents is important.
Award-winning scientist, Dr Parwinder Kaur, will be part of a panel discussion focused on developing trustworthy platforms and content that engage communities and build social license on developments. The session will also incorporate a showcase by White Spark Pictures on powerful factual and immersive content to engage communities.
“This is Australia’s greatest opportunity to redefine the future of our planet,” Dr Kaur said.
“By uniting our strengths – governments, researchers, innovators, industry leaders, and creative minds – we can craft trustworthy platforms that engage communities and inspire transformative change.
“It’s a pivotal moment to challenge the status quo and seize this moment to innovate boldly.
“Together, we can pave the way for a sustainable future and lead the charge toward net zero, ensuring that we not only thrive but also empower generations to come!”
The IIF Conference is hosted by the South West Development Commission in partnership with the City of Bunbury.
The conference will take place at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre over November 5 and 6 2024. To secure your seat at the conference and connect with the visionaries shaping tomorrow, click here.
