Our small grants are making a big difference.
The State Government is creating a strong and sustainable future for Collie as the town shifts away from a dependance on coal and coal-fired energy production.
Our Collie Futures Small Grants Program aligns with the State’s agenda for economic growth and diversification, job creation and strong opportunities for Collie.
The program is part of the Collie Futures Fund and supports economic growth and job opportunities.

Process and timelines
Applications received through the Collie Futures Small Grants Program are comprehensively assessed. The steps in the assessment process are as follows:
- Applications are assessed for eligibility. Applications determined as ineligible will not be processed and proponents will be provided for feedback.
- Applications are independently assessed using the program criteria.
- Recommendations are presented to the Collie Futures Economic Advisory Group for endorsement.
- Endorsed applications are submitted to the Minister for Regional Development for final approval.
In the lead-up to the 2025 WA State Election, the State Government will assume a caretaker role to ensure decisions are not made that would bind an incoming government and/or limit its freedom of action.
This means the Collie Futures Economic Advisory Group (CFEAG), which endorses recommended applications prior to submission to the Minister for Regional Development for final approval, will hold its last meeting in November 2024. Funding decisions for applications made after early October will not be made until after the election in March 2025 and the CFEAG reconvenes.
