Accountability

About us

SWDC is an agency of the Government of Western Australia, with offices in Bunbury, Collie and Manjimup.

The Commission was established as a Statutory Authority under the Regional Development Commission Act, 1993. It is one of nine development commissions under this Act, each serving a different region of Western Australia.

Our role

Our role is to foster the economic and social development of the South West of Western Australia. We work in partnership with other government agencies, business, industry and community groups to ensure the region develops in a positive and sustainable way. Find out more about what we do.

Our minister

SWDC reports to the Hon Brendon Grylls, Minister for Regional Development; Lands; Minister Assisting the Minister for State Development; Minister Assisting the Minister for Transport.

Board of management

The Board is the governing body of SWDC. It meets regularly to set strategic priorities, approve major expenditure and advise the Minister on regional matters. Find out more about our Board.
