Event groups encouraged to apply for grants - 7 October 2008
Groups looking to give their event, festival or market a financial boost are encouraged to apply for grants through the South West Events Program.
Announced today by South West Development Commission chairman Stan Liaros, the program will this year give events groups a chance to share in up to $70,000.
“The program is designed to support events that attract visitors to the South West, have regional significance and provide a high quality experience,” he said.
“In the past it has provided a helping hand to dozens of events that have added to the appeal of the region.
“Last year’s recipients included the Harvey Harvest Festival, Bunbury MAX Youth Festival and Pemberton Classic cycle event.
“This year, grants of up to $4000 for event expenses and/or up to $2000 for event management coordination have been made available to once again help make events in the South West a success.”
Applications for the latest round of South West Events Program grants, for events happening in 2009, are now open and available through the South West Development Commission.
Applications for grants close at 4pm on November 6 2008. View South West Events Program for application information.
