Bunbury’s digital cutting edge

Bunbury could one day produce computer generated effects for movies like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings thanks to State Government funding that will help provide the city’s new library with a cutting edge digital centre.

South West Minister Mark McGowan recently committed $520,000 funding to the City of Bunbury for the city’s new state-of-the-art centre of digital innovation.

“The State Government has committed a total of $2.5 million for the $9 million library development,” Mr McGowan said.

“The funding will help provide the library’s digital centre with the latest infrastructure needed to attract potential technology industries.”

The new centre is expected to create employment opportunities in the digital industry.

“It also has the potential for innovative new education and training possibilities to benefit local people,” Mr McGowan said.

“It’s an exciting development for Bunbury and has the potential to provide world class digital services, such as computer generated image effects for movies.”

The library is set to be completed by November.
