Collie Motorplex Project
The Collie Motorplex, 14 kilometres east of Collie, is a motorsports playground which has been established on a decommissioned coal mine. The site has well-established infrastructure including, sealed road surfaces, buildings and utilities.

The motorplex is administered by a voluntary steering committee, Motoring South West Inc, who have been strongly supported by the State Government, through the South West Development Commission. Since the inception of the project in 1996, the State Government has injected $1.3 million into the Collie Motorplex.
The Motoring South West committee has been able to attract various driver training and motor sport activities including:
- Club-level motorsport
- Youth driver training
- Corporate driver training
- Police driver training
- Four Wheel Drive driver training
- Ambulance driver training
- Classic car sprints
- Historic motorcycle trials
The Collie Motorplex project has proven very beneficial to Collie businesses offering services such as food, fuel, repairs, and accommodation to visiting motor sport enthusiasts.
In April 2006 work was completed on a major infrastructure upgrade which included; track realignment and resurfacing, in-field tunnel installation and improved spectator and competitor facilities.
