How We Help
The South West Development Commission partners with business and industry, the community and government to deliver better services, create more jobs and protect the South West's unique lifestyle.
We have specialised staff who work with the people in our communities to ensure the City of Bunbury, our towns, coastal and farming areas continue to develop in a healthy way.
The Commission also offers grants for projects that will benefit the region.
We help attract investment to the region and maximise jobs growth.
We help businesses and skilled migrants come together and negotiate the migration maze.
And through our links with Austrade we promote the region's products and services and help business to expand into export markets.
Some of our services include:
Business investment support
We can help you negotiate statutory requirements, provide information on industrial land and infrastructure, and business assistance programs. We work closely with industry groups to ensure a coordinated and efficient service to local business.
Export assistance - getting small business into exporting
If you're planning to start exporting, or if you are already exporting but would like to increase your sales, let us help you. The TradeStart office located in Bunbury provides a direct link to 117 Austrade offices overseas.
Skilled migration
We help local business find people from overseas with specific skills to fill vacancies that are hard to fill locally. We help businesses wishing to sponsor a skilled migrant, and prospective migrants wanting to move to the region.
Grants
The South West Development Commission offers financial assistance for projects and events that create economic benefits for the region, have regional significance, and promote the region as an attractive destination. Each year we have two grants funding rounds through the Regional Development Scheme and the South West Events program.
Community development
Our people are important to us. We initiate and develop projects that enhance the lifestyle and unique qualities of the South West. We also provide information about the region and undertake research to help regional and state government decision making. We value diversity and equity in our region and work to encourage self-reliance and create better access to services.
