The South West Development Commission is undertaking feasibility work to identify potential development constraints for the next stage of the Picton Enterprise Park.

Collie Shotts Industrial Park proposal
The South West Development Commission is assisting the Shire of Collie to plan for and attract new industry by investigating the potential to establish an industrial park near the old Shotts townsite, approximately 12 kilometres east of the Collie townsite.
The Commission established a working group with representatives from the Shire of Collie, Wesfarmers Premier Coal Limited, Department of Environment and Conservation and LandCorp to support and guide the site investigation process.
The objectives formed by the working group for the Shotts proposal are to identify a potential industrial site in Collie and commence planning for an industrial park that will accommodate the needs of future industry.
The Shotts proposal will focus on heavy industrial needs and aims to compliment the planning for industrial land at Coolangatta, also in the Collie shire.
The area under investigation is approximately 250 hectares and is controlled by the Department of Environment and Conservation. Major services including power, rail and roads are located next to the site boundaries.
Preliminary feasibility work on the site recommended additional environmental and planning studies be undertaken to support the proposal. The working group will advance the proposal during 2006-07.
