Share your insights and help grow innovation in the region

Thursday, 8 March 2018

Your help is needed to create a clearer picture of the support available to innovators and entrepreneurs in the South West region as part of efforts to drive economic diversification and create new job opportunities for local people.

Service providers assisting enterprise development and those developing a new venture or product are encouraged to complete a survey for the purpose of contributing information that can be used to map and build the South West innovation ecosystem.

The mapping activity will form a base for creating a stronger, more competitive network across the region with the view to assisting new and start-up businesses that can compete in the global market.

SWDC acting chief executive officer Rebecca Ball encouraged businesses and organisations to complete the questionnaire for the chance to influence economic development and diversification in the South West.

"To generate new jobs through the creation of innovative new businesses, we need to know what support is already available and where the gaps and opportunities are," Ms Ball said.

"Whether you are an investor, consultant, co-working space manager or are developing a new product or service, we want to hear from you."

The Map of the South West Innovation Ecosystem is being developed by Business South West, City of Bunbury, City of Busselton, Shire of Dardanup and South West Development Commission together with consultants from Meshpoints.

It follows on from the State Government's Regional Innovation Summit held in Bunbury in November, and a workshop for stakeholders held last month.

Click here to access the survey by Friday March 16.
