Business Assistance
The South West Development Commission strives to create an optimum economic climate in the South West Region of Western Australia, aiming to attract major industry investment, stimulate business migration into the region and advance the development of existing business and industry.
To create such an economic climate, the South West Region provides modern communication networks, information technology and e-commerce facilities as well as adequate physical infrastructure.
The Commission has formed strong regional relationships in order to identify new opportunities for South West business and industry, and provides assistance for the implementation of these new ventures.
The Commission helps business and industry by:
- providing information on statutory procedures, available industrial land and infrastructure;
- providing information on business assistance programs to investors and businesses wanting to relocate to the South West Region;
- supporting industry groups in order to strengthen the competitive base of the South West Region;
- providing information on State and Federal Government business assistance packages and advice on preparing funding submissions; and
- certification of, and assistance with, applications for regional migration schemes.
The Commission endeavours to work closely with regional economic organisations, such as the local Business Enterprise Centre network, local Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the South West Area Consultative Committee, the Warren Blackwood Economic Alliance and the Bunbury Wellington Economic Alliance to ensure a coordinated and efficient service to local businesses.
